Painting is my passion.

I have been painting for as long as I can remember. As often as I had time. I received my first oil painting set when I was 13 years old. My mother kept my first painting, and I still have it on my studio wall today. Not exactly a masterpiece but it was to my mother.  Although only a hobby up until 2024, creating art in oil paint has been a passion. Living in Rockport Texas provides me with so much inspiration. I love studying the birds and wildlife around me, capturing their beauty and personalities. Our amazing shorelines, marshes and sunsets provided endless inspiration. 

Though not formally trained, throughout the years I have taken many workshops, painting with other artists and studied many books. Each time I pick up a brush loaded with paint and touch a canvas I learn something new. How one color looks next to another, dark to light, warm to cool. This color mixed with that and that with the other. Closely studying how light hits a subject, how shadows are cast, lost in the process of interpterion and capturing the beauty I see. Getting lost in time.

I truly hope that my paintings bring to you the same joy and appreciation of the natural beauty surroundings us as it has me through the process of capturing it.
